Welcome to
CREST-Center for Innovation, Research,
and Education in Environmental Nanotechnology
As the need for a talent pipeline of scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs increases in the nano-scientific community; the CREST-Center for Innovation, Research, and Education in Environmental Nanotechnology (CIRE2N) is dedicated to the education of environmentally-conscious undergraduate and graduate students using the latest technology, discoveries, and educational material for a successful integration in the scientific workforce. The center is based in the University of Puerto Rico Río Piedras Campus and includes students from UPR-Mayaguez and Cayey as well as partnerships with UAGM. The efforts carried out in the lab by students and researchers are focused on the development of nanomaterials and devices to address environmental issues utilizing nanotechnology., starting off with local focal points.
